Is the wine good? Is it bad? Well… unless you know which wine farm it comes from, you won’t know and that’s where we come in. MCC Brut from Tulbagh unlabelled @ R59 per bottle (Regular retail price: R109).
Elegant, classic biscuity bouquet, with yeasty lees-creaminess and fine, persistent bubbles. Pinot Noir/Chardonnay, from well-known wine farm in Tulbagh, known for making excellent MCC’s.

Elgin Grove Sauvignon Blanc 2009 unlabelled @ R27 per bottle (Regular retail price: R47).
Produced by Nigel McNaught from Stoney Brook. Heady fig, passionfruit purity, keen acid tempered by 4.4g/l sugar.

Ken Forrester Petit Rosé 2009 unlabelled @ R25 per bottle (Regular retail price: R39).
Made from 51% Cabernet Franc and 49% Merlot, it exhibits bright bouquets of rose petals and red berries, with fresh strawberry, cherry and watermelon flavors and a touch of spice. It’s crisp and refreshing with a nice acid balance on the lingering finish.

Private Bin SSS Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 unlabelled @ R53 per bottle (Regular retail price: R89).
Platter * * * 1/2 – Quite serious, properly dry 07 has good sweet fruit allied with savoury appeal & oaky hints; well-built & with time to go. From well known Stellenbosch farm, we are unfortunately not allowed to mention the name.
